nibble nibble, little mouse; who’s that nibbling at my house…? HANSeL/GReTeL wants to tell you a bumpin’ not-so-bedtime story — it’s a ritual performance of the classic fairytale embedded in a night at the club. participants mingle, drink, and dance as the DJs and Narrator together spin a set (combining music and live narration) about siblings who lose the “trail of breadcrumbs” to their motherland and journey into the woods. along with live performances and visuals, these DJ sets invite participants to re-enter a folktale we heard as children, exposing and remixing its themes. together on the transformative plane of the dancefloor, we dig up & move through the story’s cultural roots. in this third installment, “Gather Round Children," we'll engage with the notion of storytelling while jumping between episodes of the folktale, asking questions like: Who gets to tell this story?, and Why talk about the Brothers Grimm? our sound, which continues to evolve over time and adapts to each space we play, spans breakbeat, dubby techno, UK bass, and moments of ambient, all laced with live storytelling. don't forget your breadcrumbs.
