Wet Spot at Parkside

All queer live music line up with Wet Spot at Parkside!

Performances by:
The Petal Tones
are a group of music majors who love to create and practice a kind of live-action role-playing as part of their artistic expression. They seamlessly transition between the natural world and the whimsical realm of their fictional indie rock band.
The Bum Babies
are a grungy anarcha-queer punk band based in Bushwick. Disillusioned by the state of the world, they channel their inner rage into a heavier sound inspired by Femme punk bands of the late 80s and early 90s.
Outer Shapes
is a queer alt duo and creative powerhouse. They make all of their work independently, from the music to the cover art, in their home studio in Brooklyn. They're known for their high energy live sets, collectively playing over 5 instruments and involving audiences during shows. Their motto is FEEL ALL YOUR FEELINGS, which is reflected in their music through their raw, honest lyricism paired with an ever-shifting sound.

Jack’S Bean Stalked: a Raunchy Holiday Panto

Jack’s Bean Stalked

Need a little filth with your fairy tale?

Dive into Jack’s Bean Stalked, a deliciously twisted, unapologetically queer take on the classic tale!

With echoes of Baby Reindeer's unsettling obsession and the seductive edge of Saltburn, this outrageous re-imagining follows Jack and a razor-sharp drag queen as they face off against a giant—and a very hands-on beanstalk that's more stalker than stalk. With biting political satire, raunchy humor, and pop culture parodies aplenty, this panto pushes boundaries and buttons in equal measure.

Bold and bawdy, the pantomime, or panto, has been a tradition in Great Britain since 1717 and is usually performed throughout the holiday season. With its roots in commedia dell’arte, the genre takes classic fairy tales and imbues them with a broad and comedic twist. While pantos are traditionally considered family-friendly entertainment, Jack’s Bean Stalked is strictly for the grown-ups! TL;DR- If you enjoyed the smart stupidity of Titanique, The Big Gay Jamboree or Oh, Mary! -you’ll be laughing all night long!

Featuring:
Matt Mastromatteo as Lady Chicken Cutlet
Lily Ali-Oshatz
Gabriel Spector
Regan Sims
Elizabeth Wright-Williams
Rachel McPhee
Robert K. Benson
Mark Galinovsky

TICKETS: EARLY - $20 / ADVANCED - $35 / DOOR - $40

SLOTH: Live Queer Storytelling

When threatened, they will fight, and it will be cute. Tell us your story about overcoming an unexpected circumstance. Have you ever confronted reality head-on? How did you find a way through it all? Or did you manage to have a really *really* good time despite life throwing hammers at you? Sharers and listeners are all welcome! No story is required to come and enjoy the scene. To sustain our work and venue, there is a $12 entry fee, but we will turn no one away for a lack of funds.
On the fence about telling a story? We're here to help you develop it for primetime! Reach out to one of our gracious and beautiful hosts to brainstorm and refine. We'd love to get a glimpse of your inner worlds.

- Tyler & Mike

What are SLOTH events?
The SLOTH is our queer gathering for friends to share stories inspired by our selected themes. Come to listen or come to tell. We welcome authentic and true(ish) tales, comedy, poetry, music, and any creative form you can put into a compelling 5-minute share. Follow us @sloth.nyc

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Danceland: Joey Kelly Allstars

Danceland, the Toronto neo-jam band, is revitalizing the Grateful Dead's legacy with fresh experimentation and energy.

Led by singer/songwriter/guitarist Joe Ferland and his wife Jale, Danceland has evolved from Cherry Garcia Band, known for their Dead and Jerry Garcia Band covers, into a creative powerhouse with a rich repertoire of original songs.Their debut album, Pink Lem, released in 2022, is a vibrant collection that blends playful tracks like “4:20”—a nod to their cannabis culture—with serious themes reflecting social issues. The follow-up album, Licky, set for release in 2024, showcases their growth, featuring standout tracks such as “Steve Earle” and a lively cover of “Expressway to Your Heart.” The album highlights Joe and Jale's seamless vocal harmonies and Joe's exceptional guitar work, delivering a polished yet dynamic jam-rock experience.
