BAD REVIEW FUND
A nonprofit fund designed to help keep risky art alive! Bad Review Fund subsidizes up-and-coming queer and trans artists, As WELL AS THOSE WHO HAVE MORE experience in the field and need a little extra support getting their show to the next level.
Parkside Lounge holds an important queer legacy in the downtown NYC performance scene and many legendary artists have graced the stage over the years.
Bad Review Fund pays homage to many of the performers who helped to shape Parkside Lounge and by extension the cultural landscape of New York City. This fund will support queer and trans performers by providing low to no cost access to Parkside Lounge— a space to experiment, put on live shows, and receive mentorship without the cost prohibitive fees—and an opportunity to make money doing what they love.
Bad Review Fund will provide resources to emerging queer performers, who in dialogue with their predecessors, are continuing to expand the definition of downtown performance.
BIPOC, TRANS, folks with disabilities and other marginalized people to the front of the line!
BIG BIG Thanks to InDIE SPACE for being our fiscal sponsor and allowing us to start this project.
